Preface
The full documentation of our website and the
downloadable files is available only in German. English speakers please
use the information on this web page and the English overview which can
also
be downloaded in PDF (6guide.pdf).
The Verzeichnis chinesischer
Collectanea in
deutschen Bibliotheken (德國圖書館所藏中文叢書目錄 Catalogue of Chinese Collectanea in German
libraries)
uses the Portable-Document-Format. These files can be viewed
with the Acrobat Reader from Adobe which can be downloaded for a number
of operating systems at www.adobe.com.
Versions 6 or higher are
recommended as they allow the text to be searched by Chinese
characters.
A correct display should be ensured by Readers of version 3 or
higher.
The Verzeichnis is also
obtainable as Allegro-C database and as UTF-8 encoded text-files on the
German
download page, though PDF is strongly recommended.
Contents
The Verzeichnis consists
of five parts and an annex.
1Einleitung.pdf
(241,743 Bytes)
This file contains the preface, a
general and
technical overview and beginning on page 5 a list of the collectanea
catalogued.
2Titelliste.pdf
(9,201,311
Bytes)
This title list is a full listing of the collectanea
with their analytic titles. The collectanea are arranged by title in
Hanyu pinyin and the analytics by the given order. Besides the usual
bibliographic information the numbering (冊號) and
the shelf-marks of the participating libraries have been registered. An
asterisk (*)
in
place of a shelf-mark denotes cases where the collectanea is held by
the library but the analytics' shelf-marks were not entered.
3Titelregister.pdf
(3,787,088
Bytes)
This file contains an index to the
collective
and analytic titles arranged by Hanyu pinyin. The first page of a
syllable is listed in the table of contents. The first two syllables of
the
first or last title on a page are shown in the headers. Titles
beginning with edititorial specifications such as 重修, 新編
and the like are indexed both with and without these components.
4Verfasserregsiter.pdf (4,501,442
Bytes)
The index to the names
of authors, editors, commentators, etc. is arranged by Hanyu pinyin.
The
surname
(姓) is separated from other
parts of the name by comma and space. The dynastic era is indicated,
with (現代) for the period after 1910
and (﹖) for period
unknown. There are cross-references for persons appearing with several
names such as style (字), sobriquet (號) or studio-name (室號, 齋名).
Persons from other parts of East Asia can be found under Hanyu pinyin
and the transcription of their native language, persons from other
regions under their native name and the transcription of their Chinese
name.
5Anhang.pdf (161,032
Bytes)
This table gives details for the
acronyms used in the id.-nos.
Annex: 6guide.pdf
(252,412 Bytes)
This file provides a brief introduction
to the project and the use of
the Verzeichnis in English.
collectanea.zip
(15,788,443 Bytes)

Use
Reference between the indexes (3Titelregister.pdf
and 4Verfasserregister.pdf) and the
title
list (2Titelliste.pdf) is accomplished by
an
id.-no. Each entry in the title list, whether collective or analytic,
is
assigned an id.-no. composed of an acronym of the
collectanea's
title and one or several blocks of numerals
separated
by a plus sign. Each id.-no. is unique and indicates the structure and
order of titles with each numeric block representing one level and the
numerals
following the given order. A search in an index results in one
or several id.-nos. which can be looked up in the title
list arranged
by
these
numbers.
Traditional
characters are used throughout the Verzeichnis
including the entries for the three publications in simplified
characters: 明清言情小說大觀 (id.-no.:
mqyqxs), 語文彙編
(ywhb), 中國古代珍稀本小說
(zgzx). Characters not encoded in Unicode/ISO
10646 were replaced by the character 囗
and for titles and authors entries with a common variant were
added.
Example 1 from the index of titles
(3Titelregister.pdf)
bi ji
筆記 bbcs+18+96,
bbcs+97+23, csjc+3081, csjcxb+9+30+171
碧雞漫志 bbcs+29+43
筆記小說大觀 bxd
The analytic title Bi ji 筆記 is
contained in four
collectanea, twice in the 百部叢書
集成 (abbreviated in the id-.no.
with bbcs), once
in the 叢書集成 (csjc)and 叢書集成
新編 (csjcxb) respectively. The id.-no.
bbcs+18+96 indicates that 筆記 is the 96th title in the 18th section
(title:
寶顏堂秘
笈, id.-no.bbcs+18) of the 百部叢書
集成. The id.-no. bbcs+97+23 refers to
the 23rd title in the 97th section (title: 鹽邑志林, id.-no.: bbcs+97). In
the 叢書集成 the analytics are counted continuously
without sectioning, 筆記 being the 3,081st title. In the 叢書集成
新編 it can be found in the 9th main section (title: 文學類, id.-no.:
csjcxb+9), 30th subsection (title 瑣談, id.-no.: csjcxb+ 9+30),
at the 171st position.
The title 碧雞漫志 illustrates the
alphabetical arrangement. "Bi ji
man zhi" stands between "Bi ji" and "Bi ji xiao shuo da guan"
irrespective of the Chinese characters.
As numerals are absent, the id.-no. bxd refers to the entry of a
collectanea.
Example 2 from the index of authors
(4Verfasserregister.pdf)
Bi,
Yuan (清)畢沅
長安志. csjc+3420, csjcxb+10+1+59+7
傳經表. bbcs+73+1,
csjc+202, csjcxb+1+14+3
Under Bi Yuan 畢沅, who lived during the
Qing
period, two titles are listed: 長安志 and 傳經表. The former is contained in
the
叢書集成 (id.-no.: csjc) and the 叢書集成
新編 (csjcxb), the
latter additionally in the 百部叢書
集成 (bbcs). The
id.-no. csjc+3420 informs us that 長安志 is the 3,420th analytic title in
the 叢書集成. In the 叢書集成
新編 it is located in the 10th main
section (title: 史地類, id.-no.: csjcxb+10), 1st subsection (title: 地理之部,
id-.no.: csjcxb+10+1), 59th
sub-subsection (title: 都會, id.-no.: csjcxb+10+1+59) at
the 7th position.
Example 3 from the index
of authors (4Verfasserregister.pdf)
Benzhuang,
Jundu
(日
本)
-> Honjō, Toshiatsu 本
庄俊篤
...
Honjō,
Toshiatsu
(日
本)本
庄俊篤
眼科錦囊 (hhyx+35)
The Japanese author 本庄俊篤 can be found
under the Chinese
reading of his name "Benzhuang,
Jundu", which
provides a cross-reference, and its Japanese reading "Honjō,
Toshiatsu",
where his works are listed; in this case one title, which is the 35th
title
in the 皇漢醫學
叢書 (hhyx).
